February is Library Lovers Month
Also, this is the inaugural year for I READ CANADA DAY https://ireadcanadian.com/ .
We will be celebrating Canadian authors and books during the last week of the month.
February 5th is World Read Aloud Day
World Read Aloud Day was founded by Litworld in 2010 as an opportunity for people all around the globe to celebrate the joy of reading. Litworld believes that everyone should have the chance to share stories.
World Read Aloud Day, February 5, was our wrap up day for Literacy Month. We organized Skype visits for each grade group, in an effort to reach outside of our walls, and connect globally. Our Skype authors are Debbie Ridpath Ohi, Holly McGhee, Jarrett Lerner, Jake Burt, Melanie Conklin and Brooks Benjamin. Each of them have Websites if you would like to check them out!
What a great day (and great wind down) for our literacy celebrations we had on this day! Mrs. Tutossi's friend and author Jarrett Lerner, writes a blog, and she thought she would send his thoughts along to you. 😊
