On October 31th, the Grade Six students will be hosting a Halloween Scare for Hunger Carnival. This event provides entertainment for our entire school population as well as an excellent opportunity to contribute to the lives of others. The Scare for Hunger Carnival also provides our grade 6 students an opportunity to understand the importance of active citizenship and to explore how we can all make a difference in the lives of others – two large components of the Grade 6 Social Studies curriculum.
The grade six students will be collecting food donations from each classroom starting on October 28th to October 30th.
This year the Halloween Carnival will have a different structure to it. The grades K-5 classrooms will be circulating through Halloween stations as an entire class, each station will have about a 10 minute time limit before moving onto the next station. The stations will continue to be organized and run by our grade 6 students.
The Halloween Carnival will be held on Thursday, October 31th from 1:30 – 3:00 pm. Thank you, in advance, for helping us teach our students about kindness, respect, empathy and citizenship.
